Thursday and Friday, 21-22 Sept: light rain both
days didn't reach the 1/4" that would stop the
project. The stream diversion was completed; the
stream is now in two 16" pipes. The work road
was finished. The steel plates arrived and were
spiked down to my driveway and sealed with
blacktop. The rocks began arriving Thursday; on
Friday, the keyway trench was begun and the first
rocks were placed into the wall.
Project assessment after 1 week
Foreman's assessment: the work won't be done much before Oct 6.
The stream diversion is complete; the stream bypasses the work site in two 16" pipes. This required a couple of days work by itself.
About 10% of the length of the lower part of the wall is in place.
Much work remains; the coming week will be almost completely taken up by rock placement.
