Just Bearly
A children's story, by Dorothy Cannon

A Valentine from Dorothy

A treasure has turned up in miscellaneous family papers.

Dorothy wrote Just Bearly in about 1948. She prepared a book proposal with rough sketches, and made finished drawings. Much of the artwork has been lost. Dorothy made several attempts to market the story; drawings went back and forth in the mail, and some didn't come back. I don't know the whole story. But I now have a copy of the proposal -- the complete story, with 32 sketches, and seven finished drawings. There are no originals here, and the quality of the copies varies, but the drawings are pure Dorothy, and we are lucky to have them.

The first showing of Just Bearly by Dorothy Cannon.
